Match the material to temperature, contact media, compression and the assembly surface.
Read articleO-rings are available in EPDM, Neoprene, NBR, VMQ silicone, FKM, FVMQ and HNBR. Each material family serves different contact media and temperature requirements.
Start with the working medium, temperature and mechanical loading. NBR and HNBR are used for oil-contact sealing; EPDM is considered for water and weather-exposed interfaces. Silicone, FKM and FVMQ offer different combinations of temperature behavior and fluid resistance. Confirm compatibility for the selected compound.
Provide the gland geometry, cross-section, diameter and required compression. Dimensions, hardness and finishing are selected for the assembly and checked using a representative sample.
View O-Rings guideGaskets can be converted from solid rubber, foam and suitable sheet materials. Material selection considers the contact medium, mating surfaces and required compression.
Outlines, internal openings and bolt-hole patterns can be developed around the assembly. Adhesive backing and laminated layers can support positioning or add a required function. Molding is considered for three-dimensional sealing geometry.
Include a drawing or sample, material preferences, thickness and the operating conditions. Confirm the gasket geometry and installed compression against the mating surfaces.
View Seals & Gaskets guideThe product range includes EPDM, silicone, FKM, EPE foam and IXPE foam profiles. Material and cross-section are selected around the sealing, cushioning or protective function.
Continuous sections can be supplied as profiles, strips or tubes and cut to length. Joining, finishing and attachment features are reviewed for the selected material and the installation.
Provide the cross-section, installation space, required length and operating environment. The selected material and geometry should be evaluated at the intended compression and loading.
View Rubber Extrusions guideRubber and foam sheets support sealing, cushioning, insulation, vibration damping and surface protection. Select hardness or density, thickness and cell structure for the required function.
Sheets can be cut into gasket outlines, pads and protective components. Adhesive backing and laminated layers are selected around the substrate and installation. The cutting route depends on the material and profile.
Include the part outline, thickness, operating conditions and expected compression. Material grade and production method are reviewed together for the finished component.
View Rubber Sheets guideSEAL produces compression-molded rubber parts in six material families: EPDM, Neoprene, NBR, Silicone, FKM and FVMQ. Material selection starts with the surrounding media, the operating temperature and the mechanical requirements.
Molded products are mainly solid. EPDM, Neoprene, NBR and Silicone can also be supplied in selected foam forms; FKM is mainly solid and FVMQ is supplied as solid rubber.
Use the compound and geometry to address compression sealing, vibration isolation, cushioning or protection. Check media compatibility and the actual compound specifications before finalizing a design.
View Molded Products guideSEAL supplies EPDM, Neoprene, NBR, Silicone, EVA, PU foam, PVC foam, IXPE foam and shielding composites. Select by the function of the tape, the contact media, the temperature and the assembly surface.
EPDM, Neoprene, NBR and Silicone tapes are available in solid and foam forms. EVA, PVC and IXPE are foam materials; PU includes open- and closed-cell grades. Shielding tapes combine conductive substrates and adhesive systems.
The foam structure, adhesive and compression should be matched to the substrate and service environment. Compound and adhesive performance depends on the selected grade and assembly conditions.
