The manufacturing route turns a selected material into a component that fits the assembly. SEAL uses molding, precision die cutting, laser cutting, waterjet cutting and oscillating-knife cutting according to the material, profile and production requirements.

Molding and die cutting

Compression molding cures rubber in a shaped cavity and is used for three-dimensional components. Precision die cutting converts sheets, foam and adhesive materials into gasket profiles and repeatable outlines.

Other cutting routes

Laser cutting provides a non-contact route for suitable materials and fine profiles. Waterjet cutting uses a cold high-pressure jet where heat effects should be avoided. Oscillating-knife cutting is used for suitable soft rubber and foam materials.

Finishing and assembly

Cut-to-length work, joining, adhesive backing and lamination can be added where the assembly requires them. Material compatibility, geometry, dimensional requirements and production volume guide the process selection and the development of a sample before production.
