Material and function

EVA is a lightweight foam used for cushioning, impact protection and gap filling. EVA gaskets and pads can be cut to fit the mating surfaces, with openings, mounting holes and profiles matched to the part. Foam density and adhesive options are selected around the surfaces and installed compression.

Manufacturing and customization

EVA foam can be converted into individual gaskets, pads or repeated shapes on a release liner. Die cutting, adhesive backing and lamination are selected around the part geometry, substrate, bond requirement and installation method.

Design considerations

Select the foam grade for the operating environment, mechanical loading and required cushioning. Include the installed compression, mating surfaces, thickness and dimensional requirements when reviewing the part. For adhesive-backed gaskets, check the surface preparation and bond performance using a representative sample.
