Material and function
PORON is a microcellular urethane foam used for precision cushioning, damping and dust sealing. Grade, thickness and installed compression determine how the converted component behaves. PORON is a registered trademark of Rogers Corporation.

Manufacturing and customization
Sheets and suitable foams can be precision converted into gasket outlines. Molding is considered where the geometry needs a three-dimensional seal. Choose the cutting route and adhesive backing for the material and shape.
Design considerations
Select the material grade for contact media, operating temperature and mechanical loading. Include the installed compression, mating surfaces and expected service conditions when reviewing the component. Confirm performance using the selected compound and a representative sample.
