Material and function
Neoprene is chloroprene rubber used for resilient sealing, damping and cushioning. It combines mechanical strength with weathering behavior and resistance to selected oils. Match the grade to the actual medium and exposure.

Manufacturing and customization
O-rings are formed and cured from a selected elastomer compound. Dimensions, cross-section, hardness and finishing are selected for the gland, contact medium and assembly.
Design considerations
Select the material grade for contact media, operating temperature and mechanical loading. Include the installed compression, mating surfaces and expected service conditions when reviewing the component. Confirm performance using the selected compound and a representative sample.
