EPE is expanded polyethylene foam used for lightweight cushioning, protection and gap filling. Profile geometry, foam density and repeated compression should be considered for the assembly.

Manufacturing and customization

Extrusion forms a continuous cross-section. Profiles can be cut to length, joined or fitted with attachment features according to the assembly and selected material.

Design considerations

Select the material grade for contact media, operating temperature and mechanical loading. Include the installed compression, mating surfaces and expected service conditions when reviewing the component. Confirm performance using the selected compound and a representative sample.
