Material and function
PVC foam is used for resilient cushioning, gap filling and sealing. Choose density, thickness and adhesive backing for the operating temperature, surface and compression; any flame rating depends on the particular grade and test conditions.

Manufacturing and customization
Sheet stock can be cut into seals, cushions and protective components. Thickness, hardness or density, backing layers and the cutting route are selected around the final part.
Design considerations
Select the material grade for contact media, operating temperature and mechanical loading. Include the installed compression, mating surfaces and expected service conditions when reviewing the component. Confirm performance using the selected compound and a representative sample.
